These are the same pistons we have been installing in 1999-2003 Indians with the S&S motor for years.
These will increase your compression ratio by 1 point and are the same weight as your stock pistons.
If you have oil blow by issues on your Chief, Scout or Spirit, year models 1999-2001 with black powder coated motors, your cylinders need to be bored .010 over to true them up.
Indian motorcycle was buying the motors in a natural finish and unassembled during these years and powder coating the parts. Doing this to the cylinders after they have been machined and without placing them in torque plates during the process will allow the cylinders to distort causing the rings not to be able to seat properly.
Over the years we have measured cylinders with out of round or egg shape and taper of up to .006.
The only true way to cure your problem is to install oversize pistons and machine the cylinders to correct the problem.
